Hernán is a 10-episode series based on the historic events of the Conquest of Mexico by Hernán Cortés and his soldiers, on behalf of the Spanish empire. The series recounts the story from the arrival of Hernán Cortés and his men on the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in 1519, to the fall of the sprawling Tenochtitlan, in 1521. Each episode is told from the point of view of those at the forefront of the exploration, battles, alliances and intrigue during those years: Malintzin, Xicotencatl, Moctezuma, Bernal Díaz del Castillo, Pedro de Alvarado, Hernán himself, etc. How could one man, with a few hundred soldiers, overcome an empire of warriors at the height of its glory? Hernán is the answer.
